WATERBURY, Conn. -- It was one more award for the road as senior forward
Deng Deang was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District East Region First Team for Post University Men's Basketball as announced by the organization on Monday morning.
Deang becomes only the second player to be named to the All-District Team with the first coming during the 2021-22 season when Devonte McCall was named NABC All-District East Region Second Team, making the senior the first Post player in program history to be named to the First Team. The same year that McCall earned his Second Team honor also coincided with Head Coach
Marc Kuntz being named the NABC East Region Coach of the Year.
This season, Deang once again racked in a ton of accolades as he was a four-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Honor Roll mention to go along with his Player of the Week honor as well. Playing in 26 games and starting 23 of them, the forward averaged 30 minutes per game while going off for 17.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game for the Eagles. From the field, Deang shot an impressive 45.6% and 37.8% from three-point land while going 87-for-104 from the free-throw line, netting him an 83.7% mark. The numbers netted Deang his second straight CACC All-Conference First Team honor.
