MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior forward
Joe Santoro netted his third goal of the season for Post University Men's Ice Hockey, only 15 seconds after Southern New Hampshire University struck for the first goal of the game in Friday night's road matchup, but a late third period power play goal from senior forward Brendan Lynch followed by an empty netter by sophomore forward Kyle Slingerland sent the Eagles to their fourth consecutive loss, 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior goalie
Benjamin Cunneen and junior goalie Sean Guerin would duel it out in the opening period as it was a sluggish start for both offenses, leading to only six shots on goal for the Penmen compared to five shots on net for the Eagles in what was a scoreless tie after 20 minutes of action.
Scoring would come in short order in the second period before all went quiet again as senior forward Kurt Watson beat Cunneen with the help of freshman defenseman Gavin Simon and Slingerland to put Southern New Hampshire on the scoreboard first, 1-0. That lead only lasted 15 seconds as Santoro responded with his game-tying goal from sophomore forward
Scotty Swain, who now has points in each of his last three games since returning to the lineup, and freshman forward
AJ Guzzardi.
All would be quiet well into the third until both sides drew penalties with 6:31 left in regulation, leading to some 4-on-4 action, resulting in neither team finding the back of the net. However, an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty issued to senior forward
Conner Murray would be the advantage the Penmen needed to strike for the go-ahead goal with 4:12 remaining from Lynch. With the extra attacker on for Post, Slingerland, who finished with a goal and an assist, would seal the win for Southern New Hampshire University with his empty net goal just before the 1:30 mark, giving the Penmen a two-goal victory, 3-1.
