PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Graduate midfielder
Luis Rodrigues recorded the first road hat trick for #14 Post University Men's Soccer on Saturday afternoon against Holy Family University since
Francisco Sousa's on September 17th, 2022, against Goldey-Beacom College to help the Eagles remain unbeaten through eight matches this season with a 3-1 win over the Tigers.
The last official hat trick of any kind in Post history also came in 2022 on October 8th, when Nick Anagnostiadis had one against D'Youville University at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED
It would not take long for the Eagles to get on the scoreboard as Rodrigues used the help of graduate midfielder
Pablo Tenorio to score his first goal of the match just 2:19 into the contest, beating junior goalkeeper Joey Phillips, who made eight saves on 11 shots from Post on the afternoon. Rodrigues accounted for five total shots, leading the team in that category, as well as four shots on goal for a 75% conversion rate in only 71 minutes of playing time.
The graduate student would net his second goal of the match in the 36th minute, this time with the help of senior midfielder
Lucas Fernandes, as the Eagles went into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Entering the match, junior goalkeeper
Leopold Dufaut, who has had a myriad of awards to his name in the early going of the season, maintained a four-match shutout streak before having it snapped by junior forward Ever Maradiaga in the 47th minute, but Dufaut would still move to 4-0-4 in goal this year after making four saves in the victory.
With time winding down, Rodrigues would score in the 81st minute, using senior forward
Matheus Milagres' help to do the damage that gave him his historic first hat trick en route to the 3-1 win for Post. The Eagles finished the match having a 16-5 edge in overall shots and an 11-5 lead in shots on goal, while also playing over 40 minutes with a man-advantage after junior defender Sean McKenna was awarded a red card, which warrants an automatic ejection from the match.
