HOW IT HAPPENED
In a game where the Eagles shot a season-low 27.9% from the floor, making 17-of-61 shots overall and 4-of-21 threes in the loss, there would be only two lead changes and three ties throughout the course of the game in what would be a close finish. Out of the gate, four points from senior guard Bri Rider helped the Griffins take a 6-0 lead and from there they would control the rest of the first quarter en route to a 15-8 lead after one which saw them lead by as many as nine points, 15-9, with 4:33 remaining in that frame.
Rossignol's career-high game would finally kick off in the second quarter as she was held scoreless in the first, dropping 10 points as part of a 24-point session for the Eagles who continued to stay within striking distance. Graduate guard
Erin Harris' three with 4:44 left in the half cut the deficit down to one point for Post, 23-22, and despite falling behind by eight points following a three by junior guard Sara Tamoun, 30-22, the Eagles would once again find their way back into the affair.
Scoring 10 of the next 12 points to tie the game at 32 all on a three by freshman guard
Jackie Russell with 54 seconds left. However, freshman guard Anaisah Malone's layup inside of a minute to go would send Chestnut Hill into the halftime locker room with a two-point lead, 34-32, while Post hung close in spite of an 8-for-25 (32%) start from the field because of their 14 free throw makes.
Starting off the second half, Rossignol tacked on seven of Post's first 10 points to help give them their first lead of the game at the 5:25 mark of the third as part of an 8-0 run she started with her layup and ended with the second of two threes the Eagles had with the first coming from Harris. Junior guard Avery White proceeded to pour in the next five points from the Griffins on their 7-0 run in response which would give them the lead for good although a back-and-forth fourth quarter was still to be had in what was a 51-49 game.
Picking up where she left off to start the final frame, Rossignol tied the game at 51 all with her jumper and continuously pushed the Eagles back to with one point before Chestnut Hill overwhelmed them in the final 3:39 of the game. After the sophomore made it a one-point game, 58-57, Post would be held to one basket the rest of the way by Rossignol as the Griffins finished on a 12-2 run to pull away with the 70-59 victory and drop the Eagles to 1-3 in conference play.
