Aubrey Latham and 2002-03 CACC Champion Men's Basketball Team Being Inducted into Post Hall of Fame on October 11th

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Post University Athletics will be inducting two members into their 2024 Hall of Fame class this year as Women's Basketball standout Aubrey Latham and the 2002-03 CACC Champion Men's Basketball team will be honored on October 11th at the Wyndham in Southbury, Connecticut this year.

Latham got the nod into the 2024 Hall of Fame class after a storied four-year career at Post from 2009 until 2014 which included a redshirt year for the 2010-11 season. At the time of her induction, the guard from Mystic, Connecticut is the program's all-time leading scorer having dropped 1,790 points over the course of four seasons in which she was coached by Tracey Garofalo, Alan Stekloff, and Stephen Schuler in that span and was the fifth player in program history to reach the 1,000 point mark. Upon entry, Latham also owns a myriad of records which includes the program's all-time leader in field goals made at 654 and owning the single-game point record at 41 points on December 7th, 2013 against Wilmington.

But beyond that, Latham also has a trio of single-season records all from the 2013-14 season in which she had 596 points scored, 219 field goals made, and a record-breaking 92.8% free throw percentage. Her performances on the court led her to be named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Conference Third Team in 2011-12 before going Second Team in 2012-13 and First Team in her 2013-14 career season. Latham was also named to the 2013 and 2014 ECAC All-Star First Team and 2014 Daktronics First Team All-East Region.

Led by Head Coach J.J. DeTemple in his only season as the Head Coach for Post University Men's Basketball, the Eagles went 19-10 overall and 15-5 in conference play en route to their first CACC Championship in program history. After starting the year 2-6, Post would go on win streaks of three and four with the four-game winning streak encompassing a stretch in which they won 11 of their last 12 games of the season, including a seven-game winning streak en route to their championship. The Eagles took down Caldwell University in the CACC Semifinals, 89-67, before a close battle with Felician University secured the champion win, 74-70.

DeTemple's coaching staff included Will Johnson, Todd McEvoy, and Dan Carroll as well as manager Arthur Blaine. Players who were part of that championship-winning team were Chris Bethune, Charles Solomon, Jermaine Robinson, Terence Wilkins, Colin O'Reilly, Omar Thompson, Lauriston Beech, Justin Skipwith, Glenn Gary, Will Moore, Alex Tonne, Ron Christy, Ronan O'Leary, Wes Firmin, and Russ Paulding.
