Lily Tomasiello landed her second CACC Honor Roll of the spring this week as announced by the league office earlier today.
Robbie McGrayne - Player of the Week - Men's Lacrosse
McGrayne broke records for Post University Men's Lacrosse this week, en route to a 12-goal, 12-point performance across a 2-0 week for the Eagles against Felician University and Holy Family University. After scoring only twice against the Golden Falcons earlier in the week, McGrayne exploded for 10 goals against the Tigers, including nine in the first half to set the new single-game record for goals scored in a game at Post. The junior also added on seven ground balls, and two caused turnovers during his stellar week as well as with his 10-point game against Holy Family put himself second all-time for most points in a single game.
James Sproul - Defensive Player of the Week - Men's Lacrosse
Sproul made his defensive presence felt for the Eagles during their 2-0 week against Felician and Holy Family University. Sproul tallied up a total of 16 ground balls, snagging eight in each game, to lead the team in that category while also causing another three turnovers and winning all four of the faceoffs he took. Sproul also tacked on a goal for Post in their 23-2 win over the Tigers at home on Saturday.
Lily Tomasiello - Honor Roll - Softball
Tomasiello continues to heat up after another strong week for Post University Softball offensively. Tomasiello finished a six-game week for the Eagles going 7-for-20 with a .350 batting average while hitting two big home runs, driving in eight runs, and scoring three times during a 1-5 week for Post. In the field, Tomasiello had 63 total chances, converting on 54 putouts and seven assists while having just two errors for a .968 fielding percentage and being part of all three double plays.
Chris Corchado - Honor Roll - Baseball
Corchado had a hot week for Post University Baseball as the Eagles went 3-2 with a three-game sweep of Dominican (N.Y.) before falling against Goldey-Beacom College in their doubleheader this Sunday. Corchado closed the week with a .476 batting average after going 10-for-21 with three doubles, one home run, eight RBIs, six runs scored, and a walk while not striking out in those 21 at-bats across 21 games. In the field, Corchado was a perfect 1.000 after making 30 putouts and assisting on three more plays for a total of 33 chances during the week.
Joe Christiana - Honor Roll - Baseball
Christiana once again was able to get a complete game win for the Eagles during his lone start of the week for the Eagles against Dominican (N.Y.) on Saturday night. In game two of the doubleheader, Post would mercy the Chargers with a 12-2 win, but Christiana went the distance on just 91 pitches in which he allowed two runs on five hits with nine strikeouts and only two walks. Christiana has now won each of his last two starts and lowered his earned run average to 3.92 this season.
