WATERBURY, Conn. – Only one word can accurately describe the performance put on by Post University Men's Lacrosse on Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field. Historic. The Eagles jumped out to a 17-2 lead by halftime as nine first-half goals for junior attacker
Robbie McGrayne not only gave him his 100
th career goal, but also led to him etching his name in the record books for Post as he finished with a program-record 10 goals in the 23-3 win.
With his 10 points in the game, McGrayne also placed himself tied for second all-time for most single-game points and has 134 points in his career which is the second-most in the program behind senior attacker
Dylan Heald.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Looking beyond the box score, the records were numerous across the board for Post University as a whole. McGrayne's marks put him at 104 career goals behind Heald, who had two goals today, for the program lead which is 114 goals. Earlier this season, the Oshawa, Ontario native became the fourth player as well to reach the 100 Point Club as he joined his teammate in Heald reaching that mark and is now the second player to top 100 career goals in the program's history.
Moving on to sophomore attacker
Ryan Denike, he had five assists in the affair which tied him for second all-time for most single-game assists with himself. Denike reached that mark last year against Felician on April 28
th, 2023 in that 19-5 victory for the Eagles.
But then come the team accolades which were plentiful for Post. With 23 team goals, they placed themselves second all-time for most goals in a single game behind only a pair of 24-goal games against Alderson Broaddus in 2014 and 2023. As a team, the Eagles recorded 17 total assists which surpassed the record set 10 years ago on April 19
th, 2014 at Alderson Broaddus when they had 15 team assists.
In that same game in 2014, Post had also registered 39 team points and that mark was also shattered on Saturday as the team combined for 40 total points to set that program record as well. Narrowly setting another record, 67 total shots in the game was the new program high mark as it beat out the 66-shot effort that the Eagles had on April 24
th, 2019 against Felician at home.
But the records were not just limited to offense either as the defense broke down the wall on three more program marks. As a team, Post allowed only 18 total shots to Holy Family, an all-time low for the Eagles whose previous low was 19 shots set just earlier this year against St. Thomas Aquinas at home in the team's first-ever shutout victory.
After the last game which saw the Eagles tally up 54 ground balls, ranking second in the history of the program, 51 ground balls today placed them fourth all-time in that category as well just behind the 52 ground balls gathered against D'Youville University last February.
Rounding out the record-breaking afternoon was the team tying the all-time caused turnovers mark for a single game which had been done twice before. Post forced Holy Family into 19 caused turnovers in the game which tied them with the 2023 Alderson Broaddus game and a 2022 matchup with AIC for most in program history.
As a collective, 15 different Eagles recorded points, 11 scored goals, nine assisted on goals, and the entire roster saw playing time in the 23-3 win. While senior goalie
Cole George got the win with three saves on five shots in the first half, goalies
Russell Robinson,
Joseph Seminatore, and
Nolan Martin all got in between the pipes for Post with three of the four coming away with at least one save.
