LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Over the last couple of weeks, offense has been hard to come by for Post University Baseball, scoring three runs or fewer in each of their last five games entering the day. While the pitching has been solid in that span, both sides of the ball would struggle against the University of New Haven on Tuesday afternoon, ending in a 15-3 defeat for the Eagles in the penultimate game of their Florida trip.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior catcher Jimmy Brennan gave Post the lead with his first home run of the season, a solo shot in the second inning off of sophomore right-hander Randy Ramnarace before the Chargers responded immediately in the third with four runs. Facing off against the CACC Pitcher of the Week in graduate right-hander Joe Christiana, junior outfielder Cole Maucere tied things up at one with his sacrifice fly before sophomore infielder Matt McIntire went yard for a three-run home run to give New Haven the lead, 4-1.
Brennan would record his second hit of the day with an RBI single in the bottom half of the frame and he would ultimately finish tied for the team lead in hits with two while driving in a team-high two runs on the afternoon. But momentum continued to trend in favor of New Haven who drove in three more in the fourth with a pair of singles from Maucere and McIntire along with a solo shot by sophomore outfielder Shaun Callahan to break open the game.
Leading 7-2 entering the fifth, three more singles for the Chargers extended their lead to eight runs before freshman infielder John Onofrio's RBI double broke that stretch in the bottom of the inning. Over the last four innings, New Haven plated five more runs to earn a 15-3 win with McIntire capping off his 4-for-6 day just shy of the cycle after hitting two home runs, getting two singles, a triple, driving in seven runs, and scoring three times.
As a team, Post pitching was responsible for 14 of the 15 total runs while striking out five batters, walking three, and allowing 18 hits in the affair.
