TiJanae Simmons Gets First Honor Roll of Season for Women's Basketball, Deng Deang Lands on Honor Roll Again For Men's Basketball

WATERBURY, Conn. -- For the fifth time this season, junior forward Deng Deang was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Honor Roll for Post University Men's Basketball and graduate guard TiJanae Simmons earned her first CACC Honor Roll recognition for Post University Women's Basketball as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

TiJanae Simmons -  Honor Roll - Women's Basketball
Simmons led the way for the Eagles on Saturday against Chestnut Hill College, scoring a team-high 18 points while doing it all from the three-point line. Simmons scored 15 of her 18 points in the second half to help lead a 15-point comeback over the final 16 minutes of action as the Eagles knocked off the regionally-ranked Griffins who had won 11 in a row entering the day. The 18-point effort was a season-high for Simmons as was the 6-for-15 shooting day 14 of which came from beyond three-point range and resulted in a 42.9% three-point shooting afternoon. Simmons also tacked on two rebounds and a steal in the win.

Deng Deang -  Honor Roll - Men's Basketball
Deang had a career day for the Eagles in their only action over the past week against Chestnut Hill College on Saturday afternoon. Deang scored 22 points in the first half on 9-for-15 shooting overall while hitting two threes to help keep the Eagles within a point heading into the half, 40-39. Ultimately as a team, a cold shooting second half for Post would result in a 74-66 loss to the Griffins, but Deang would finish with a career and team-high 34 points on 14-of-26 shooting while going 4-for-6 from three and adding in six rebounds, two blocks, a steal, and an assist. Deang set career highs in the following categories, minutes played (35), field goals made (14), field goals attempted (26), three-pointers made (4), and three-pointers taken (6).
