HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior forward
Joe Santoro led all Post players with 14 faceoff wins, marking the seventh consecutive game this season in which he has done so while junior forward lurked close behind with 13 faceoff wins in the defeat. Sophomore forward Brady Carpenter got the Lancers on the scoreboard in the first period, beating Edmands with the help of sophomore defenseman Maximilian Hussar and freshman forward Fredric Pinel to give Worcester State a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.
Despite a scoreless second, both sides would get a chance at two man-up advantages with the Eagles having a 4-on-3 chance following back-to-back calls on Carpenter which coincided with a roughing penalty for freshman forward
Max Beaulac, but would be unable to cash in. Post had one total shot during their power plays in the second period while the Lancers had two and the teams combined to go 0-for-5 on the power play during the evening.
Adding an insurance goal in the third would be senior forward Brigham Neuhold just before the midway point of the third period using senior forward Martin Dlugoinsky and senior defenseman Cody Porcello to aid in willing the Lancers to a 2-0 advantage. Through two, Post had been outshot 25-12 before hammering 13 shots on Kubik in the third compared to just eight shots taken against Edmands, making it a 33-25 edge in shots on goal for Worcester State. Towards the end of regulation, the Eagles had a chance to cut their deficit in half on the power play with less than three minutes to go and would be unable to do so, being shut out for the third straight game, 2-0.
