WILMINGTON, Del. – For the past five seasons of competition since 2018, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Championship went through Post University Men's Soccer. In their sixth CACC Championship match in a row, the top-seeded Eagles saw their streak come to a close down in Wilmington, Delaware against three-seeded Felician University on Sunday morning, 1-0, on an early first-half goal by senior defenseman Alex Ramos in the 20th minute which propelled the Golden Falcons to their first CACC title since 2001.

Felician University (16-3-2)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Eight total yellow cards were issued between the two teams in which Post led in the overall shot total, 16-12, but opportunities on net went the way of Felician by a 7-3 margin. Freshman forward
Marc Ballart recorded the first shot against senior goalkeeper Emanuele Moretti in the ninth minute which was quickly followed by senior midfielder Hugo Rodriguez's strike on graduate goalkeeper
Ricardo Moreno for the Golden Falcons.
Of the three corner kicks both sides had in the opening half, all three came for the Eagles within the first 19 minutes while two of the three came in the first three minutes for Felician and the final one not coming until the final minute. But mixed in between there was Ramos' goal which held up as the championship winner as sophomore midfielder Nicholas Robinson lifted a pass into the box for the senior who went over Moreno with the shot and score in the 20th minute.
After that goal, Post would have just one more shot on goal in the half against Moretti, which he stopped in the 44th minute as it came flying in from graduate midfielder
Luis Rodrigues. Putting the pressure on the Golden Falcons in the second half was the Eagles as they outshot them 11-6 overall but manufactured just two shots on net against Moretti in the final 45 minutes. Only one corner kick would come for the Eagles in the 50th minute and both shots on net came within the first 16 minutes of the half before the Felician defense clamped down.
The Golden Falcons blocked three of the last six shots by Post with two more going wide right and freshman midfielder
Fabian Ernst's header going high over the crossbar. Keeping the Eagles alive with just under seven minutes to go was Moreno with a diving save to his left, stopping senior forward Tim Jaeger's attempt at giving Felician a two-goal cushion. However, Post's streak would come to an end as they were unable to get one past Moretti to force overtime and the Golden Falcons hoisted their first CACC Championship since 2001 with the 1-0 shutout win.
For Post, graduate defender
Felix Nassen won the Top XVII Award at last night's CACC Tournament banquet as well as made the CACC All-Tournament Team alongside
Fabian Ernst, senior midfielder
Diego Silva, and
Ricardo Moreno which was named following the end of the match.
