Felix Nassen and Ricardo Moreno Win Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week for Men's Soccer, Four More Eagles Named to CACC Weekly Honor Roll

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Graduate goalkeeper Ricardo Moreno earned his first CACC Goalkeeper of the Week honor while graduate defender Felix Nassen notched his third CACC Defensive Player of the Week award for Post University Men's Soccer in this week's conference awards. Joining the duo was junior midfielder Markus Boe Tunge with a CACC Honor Roll as well as graduate outside hitter Kristina Peric and junior libero Alyssa Groves from Post University Women's Volleyball. Senior guard Bol Akot also got named to the CACC Honor Roll for Post University as announced by the league office on Monday.

Felix Nassen - Defensive Player of the Week - Men's Soccer
Helping the Eagles notch two more shutouts, graduate defender Felix Nassen played 179 minutes for Post to help them finish the regular season with a 3-0 win against the University of Bridgeport and win their CACC Quarterfinals match against Jefferson in overtime, 1-0. Nassen was a part of a Post defense that allowed just three shots on goal across those two games and nine shots overall.

Ricardo Moreno - Goalkeeper Player of the Week - Men's Soccer
Moreno got his seventh and eighth shutouts of the season for the Eagles with wins over the University of Bridgeport and Jefferson University in the CACC Quarterfinals this past week. Moreno needed to face just three shots between the two matches, all of which he stopped, while playing all 184 minutes for the Eagles in between the posts.

Alyssa Groves - Honor Roll - Women's Volleyball
Groves dazzled defensively again for the Eagles as they swept through Dominican (N.Y.) before losing to Georgian Court University in five sets last week. Across eight total sets, Groves finished with a team-high 52 digs for an average of 6.50 digs per set to go along with seven assists and two service aces. The junior had 25 digs against the Lady Chargers on Thursday and 27 digs against the Lions on Saturday.

Kristina Peric - Honor Roll - Women's Volleyball
During a 1-1 week for the Eagles, Peric continued to lead Post this time with 33 kills in eight sets while finishing with a .264 attack percentage. Peric recorded 14 kills and a .379 attack percentage in a three-set sweep at home against Dominican (N.Y.) to lock up a home quarterfinals match for Post before notching 19 kills in a five-set loss against CACC South Division leader Georgian Court University over the weekend. The graduate student also had 14 digs, five block assists, one service ace, and a team-high 36.5 points.

Markus Boe Tunge - Honor Roll - Men's Soccer
Boe Tunge served up the game-winner for the Eagles in overtime of the CACC Quarterfinals against Jefferson University last week as Post went 2-0-0 with a win over the University of Bridgeport before the tournament win. Boe Tunge had one goal on the week but it was the biggest goal possible for the Eagles who avoided an upset bid by the Rams in overtime with the 1-0 win courtesy of Boe Tunge's free kick goal.

Bol Akot - Honor Roll - Men's Basketball
Akot led the Eagles to a perfect 2-0 start to their season at the Bridgeport Tip-Off Tournament with wins over Franklin Pierce University and Mercy University this Friday and Sunday. Akot Finished the week averaging 19.5 points per game on 8-of-19 shooting while making 22-of-27 free throws overall and hitting one three. The senior corralled five rebounds, garnered nine steals, two blocks, and dished out 12 assists over the course of 68 minutes in which he only had five turnovers of his own. Akot hit the game-winner with less than three seconds remaining in overtime against the Ravens to lift Post to a 90-88 win with 19 points before scoring 20 points against the Mavericks on 5-of-7 shooting in that 83-69 victory.
