PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – It was a clean sweep for Jefferson University as Post University Women's Tennis hit the road for a rematch against the Rams on Saturday. While the Eagles did force a couple of tiebreakers in their matches, they would be unable to seal the deal on any victories in their 7-0 defeat at the hands of Jefferson, dropping to 1-5 in conference play with 10 days and four conference matches left to go in the regular season before the tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
One of the three Doubles matches would end up going to a tiebreaker as senior
Nina Langenfeld and freshman
Annelein Van Urk in the #2 Doubles ended up tied at six all with junior Rose Huang and graduate student Anna Morgillo before falling during the tiebreaker points, 7-3. The #3 Doubles was a near-sweep for the Rams as junior Emily Frost and senior Zenia Barretto took down junior
Gioia Turco and freshman
Melanie Leussink, 6-1, securing the Doubles point for Jefferson.
Rounding out the Doubles sweep in the #1 Doubles was freshman Alycia Veroux and graduate student Nicole Hrbkova with a 6-3 win over senior
Megan Lombardt and freshman
Julie Merlin to head into Singles with a 1-0 lead.
It was more of the same in the Singles for the Rams as Hrbkova took down Merlin in the #2 Singles, 6-1 and 6-0, while the #4 Singles ended a short while later with 6-2 and 6-1 set wins for Morgillo over Van Urk to give Jefferson three team points.
Barretto swept through
Melanie Leussink in the #5 Singles with a pair of 6-0 set wins to secure the team win for the Rams while Frost took down freshman
Romy Leussink, 6-1 and 6-3 in the #6 Singles. The #1 Singles was led by Veroux who won 6-1 and 6-4 over Lombardt while Langenfeld put up a fight in the #3 Singles after taking set one against Huang, 6-4, but lost set two, 6-2, and then the 10-point tiebreaker set, 10-4, to round out the 7-0 sweep for Jefferson.

Post University continues its road trip against Wilmington University on Monday afternoon at 3:00 PM down in Wilmington, Delaware. The two teams met earlier in the week on Tuesday in Middlebury, Connecticut where the Wildcats swept past the Eagles, 7-0.
