Maya Klein has found her way into the weekly awards for Post University Women's Basketball, being named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll while junior forward
Deng Deang was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll for Post University Men's Basketball as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Maya Klein - Honor Roll - Women's Basketball
Klein continued her hot streak this week for the Eagles who went 1-1 across their two conference games. Shooting over 40% in both games, Klein finished in double digits for the second and third straight games after dropping 17 points at Felician and then 21 points against Goldey-Beacom at home. The Stamford, Connecticut native finished the week shooting 50% from the floor (14-of-28) while going an impressive 7-for-15 from long range (46.7%) and hitting 3-of-4 free throws. Finishing the week with 38 points, Klein averaged 19 points per game while grabbing four rebounds, adding three assists, and two steals.
Deng Deang - Honor Roll - Men's Basketball
Deang continues to be an offensive and defensive force for the Eagles who got back to their winning ways with a 2-0 week. Coming off his worst performance of the season at Daemen, Deang responded with 22 points at Felician and 17 points against Molloy at home over the weekend to help lead the Eagles to victory. On the week, Deang manufactured 39 total points (19.5 points per game) and a team-leading 15 rebounds while tacking on three assists and two steals. Deang shot a blistering 15-of-25 from the floor (60%) and was near-perfect from three after going 4-for-5 (80%) and then also added five free throws on seven attempts.
Both teams will be back in action on Wednesday evening against Caldwell University with the women tipping off at 5:30 PM followed by the men at 7:30 PM inside the Drubner Center.Â
