COLCHESTER, Vt. – The first goal of the season could not come at a better time for junior forward
Hannah Luckman on Saturday afternoon against Saint Michael's College. The third-period goal for the junior helped break a 1-1 tie against the Purple Knights en route to the second straight win of the weekend for the Eagles who capped off their season series against Saint Michael's with a 4-0-0 record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman defenseman
Jodie Rose tallied her second goal of the season, starting on the forward lines for the Eagles in the affair. The goal came just under 6 ½ minutes into the first period from freshman forward
Jet Devlin and sophomore forward
Rylee Patfield. Both Patfield and Devlin were key contributors a day ago against the Purple Knights as Patfield scored her third goal of the season and Devlin added an assist in the 4-2 win.
Senior goalie
Grace Glasrud got the start in net for Post and nearly picked up her first shutout victory of the season. Glasrud made 36 total stops in the game, including 20 shots in the second period, which helped keep the Eagles ahead by a goal heading into the third. After allowing the early goal to Rose, sophomore goalie Annika Lavender recovered to stop 15 total shots in the first and seven more in the second to keep the Purple Knights' hopes alive at winning their first game of the season.
Freshman forward Alizee LeBlanc would bring life to Saint Michael's in the third, giving them a shot at their first win by tying the game with over 18 minutes left in regulation while getting some help from freshman forward Anna Jerylo and sophomore forward Lauren Fisher. But shortly after the halfway point of the frame, Luckman would get the game-winning goal as freshman forward
Celena Mickevicius and junior forward Julai Wysocki set her up for the go-ahead goal.
Despite allowing the goal to LeBlanc, Glasrud would shut the door on the win with eight third-period saves while Lavender still kept her team alive with 12 saves on the other end. With 1:07 remaining in the third, Lavender would be pulled for the extra attacker as Saint Michael's looked to even up the score, but the Purple Knights would be unable to manufacture any shots against Glasrud and the Eagles left Vermont with a 2-1 win.
