Pair Of Eagle Goals Not Enough To Come Out On Top Over Syracuse, 2-3

Although the Eagles came out strong, Syracuse used their momentum from yesterday's win against Post to grab a late goal in the first with less than three minutes remaining, taking advantage of a line change for the Eagles.

Post opened up the second frame, immediately taking command of the puck, winning the first face off before firing off five shots in their attack end. However, the Orange answered back with six shots of their own, all denied by the Eagles by way of blocks and saves by goaltender Hannah Saunders to keep the score at a standstill. It wasn't until 8:43 when the Orange tacked on another goal to grab a two-goal edge. However, Post took advantage of a power play opportunity as Maddy Noonan found Sajel Desai who ripped one to the back of the net, marking the first goal of the season for the Eagles to make it a one-goal game heading into the final frame, 1-2.

In the third, Syracuse wasted no time lengthening their margin, as the Orange found the back of the net just 41 ticks after winning the initial face off to make it 3-1. The Eagles kept their heads held high, eventually coming within one-goal once again thanks to another power play goal scored by Macy Peterson (3-2). Both teams attempted to net another, firing of a multitude of shots before the final minute when the Eagles pulled Saunders from net to play six-on-five, ripping four back to back shots on net but they were unable to penetrate, taking the narrow 3-2 loss.  BY THE NUMBERS
