HOW IT HAPPENED
Winning their second straight #1 Doubles to start the season, junior
Megan Lombardt and sophomore
Micaela Rosignuolo cruised to a 6-4 victory over junior Maria Mella and senior Adriana Hiraldo, 6-4, while graduate student
Annunciata De-Souza and sophomore
Natalia Gonzalez Ramos were able to move to 2-0 in #2 Doubles this year with a resounding 6-1 win over seniors Remi LaSage and Anna Lang.
Bouncing back from their doubles loss the other day, the duo of graduate student
Julia D'Occhio and junior
Nina Langenfeld teamed up once again, this time coming away with the win, 6-2, over freshman Catalina Borrero and senior Libby Keefe as the Eagles picked up the one doubles point.
Sweeping through the singles, it was Gonzalez Ramos who finished first with a quick 6-2 and 6-1 victory over Lang in the #5 Singles, earning her first solo win of the season. A short while later, Rosignuolo powered past LeSage after a short battle in the first set before the sophomore pulled away to win 6-3 and then take set two, 6-2 in the #2 Singles.
Then came the first singles win of the season for senior
Oceane Mallevre in the #4 Singles who fell behind 3-0 in set one but stormed back for the 6-3 win and then a 6-4 second set victory which ultimately secured the match for the Eagles.
Capping off the sweep would be Langenfeld with her 6-4 and 6-2 win against Hiraldo in the #3 Singles followed by De-Souza in the #1 Singles against Mella with identical 6-4 sets, and then a fitting sweep to cap off the day from D'Occhio over Keefe with a pair of 6-0 wins to secure the #6 Singles and a 7-0 win for Post UniversityÂ
