Middlebury, CT - The Post University men's tennis team had its final tuneup before the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) tournament, as it defeated non-conference opponent, Bentley on Sunday afternoon at Edgewood Bath and Tennis Club, 6-1.
The win makes the Eagles 8-9 on the season, while Bentley is 6-8.
Post took the doubles point as
James Vincent and
Anton Andersson won doubles no. 1, 6-4 over Max Bonte and Jordan Soifer. In doubles no. 2
Niklas Langenfeld and
Cooper Smith defeated Nikolai Pran and Gabe Horowitz by the same score.
Vincent also won in straight sets in singles no. 1, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 over Soifer and
Gustavo Kerber came back after dropping the first set to defeat Bonte in no. 2, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Anderson made quick work of Horowitz, 6-0, 6-1 in singles no. 3.
Cooper Smith took the third set against Tawan Rattaseri, winning, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 in no. 5 singles.
Langenfeld defeated Diego Ramos, 6-2, 6-3. in no. 6 singles.
Up next, the Eagles, seeded third in the CACC Tournament will take on No. 2 seed Chestnut Hill in the semifinals on April 18 at 2 p.m. The winner will face regular season champion, Jefferson on April 21.
