Third Quarter Hurts Men's Lacrosse In Loss To Georgian Court

Lakewood, N.J. - The Post University men's lacrosse team lost a 21-11 game to Georgian Court in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) road game on Saturday.

Post is now 5-4 on the year and 1-1 in the CACC. Georgian Court is 5-5 overall and 1-0 in the CACC.

In a low scoring first quarter, the Lions took a small 2-1 lead as Robbie McGrayne scored the lone goal in the period.

Post tied the game up just 26 seconds into the second to tie the quarter as Ryan Denike scored his first of two , 2-2, but the Lions scored three straight, including the second goal of the game for Tallen Smith. Braedan Lockyer quickly got the Eagles back into the game, making it a 5-4 game after back-to-back goals 1:26 apart.

McGrayne would score his second of the game, but the Lions scored twice in the final 30 seconds of the half, including one from Vincent Giunta with 11 seconds left, giving them an 8-5 lead into the half.

Denike scored his second og the game early in the third, but Georgian Court scored eight of the final nine goals in the period as Michael Ventresca scored all four of his goals for the Lions, all within a give minute stretch. Dylan Heald scored the other goal in the period for Post. The Lions led 16-7 into the fourth.

Post closed the game to 17-10 after scoring three straight in the fourth as McGrayne scored twice and Leighton Cooke scored.

Noah Piette scored the final goal of the game for the Eagles, his first of his career with a man down.

McGrayne finished with four goals and it was his fourth game this season with four goals or more. He now has 21 goals on the season, second in the CACC. Heald leads the conference with 26.  It was the second straight game with two goals for Denike.

Vincent Burns scored four goals for the Lions. Daniel Bunham scored three.
