Men’s Tennis Shuts Out Dominican In CACC Opener

Middlebury, CT. – The Post University men's tennis team got off to a perfect start in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play, defeating Dominican University, 7-0 at Edgewood Bath and Tennis on Monday afternoon.

Post moves to 4-3 on the season and 1-0 in the CACC. Dominican is 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the CACC.

The Eagles started off taking two out of the three doubles matches as James Vincent and Anton Andersson won 6-3 over Guilherme Salim and Marcos Lee and Cooper Smith and Niklas Langenfeld won by the same score against Qalib Ladhani and Ander Cantero Sadaba.

Post won all six singles matches, six of them in two sets. Vincent defeated Salim, 6-0, 6-4 in singles no. 1. Gustavo Kerber won 6-3, 6-4 in singles no. 2 over Lee.  Vincent is now 3-1 in singles play, all at singles no. 1.

Andersson won his match 6-4, 7-5 in singles no. 4 and Jose Nunez won 6-1, 6-2 over Skylar Ross in singles no. 5. Nunez now leads the team in singles wins, at 4-3.

In the three-set matches, Josh Cronje came back after falling down a set, winning 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 in singles no. 6 and Smith won in singles no. 3, 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4).

The Eagles are back in action on Tuesday as they host Chestnut Hill in CACC play at 3 p.m. at Edgewood Bath and Tennis.
