Middlebury, CT – The Post University men's tennis team defeated Chestnut Hill College, 4-3 as the Eagles won their second straight match in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.
Post is now 5-3 overall and 2-0 in CACC play. The Griffins are now 4-5 overall and 1-3 in CACC play.
Post took the doubles' point, winning two out of the three matches.
James Vincent and
Anton Andersson won 6-4 in doubles no. 1 and in a tight doubles no. 3 match,
Gustavo Kerber and
Josh Cronje defeated Pedro Vicente and Joao Sousa, 7-5 as the Eagles led 1-0 heading into singles play.
Vincent and Kerber each won in straight sets in singles no. 1 and 2, respectively. Vincent beat Noah Cutting, 6-2, 6-2, and Kerber defeated Tom Pitchley, 6-3, 6-4.
Niklas Langenfield picked up a win over Vicente, 6-1, 7-5 in singles no. 6.
Up next, the Eagles will take on Queens in a non-conference match at 1 p.m. at Edgewood Bath and Tennis.
