Men's Lacrosse Scores Ten In Second Quarter, Rout Alderson Broaddus

Sparks, Md. - The Post University men's lacrosse team scored ten goals in the second period and were never threatened in a 24-7 wire-to-wire win over Alderson Broaddus on Saturday afternoon at the United States Lacrosse Facility.

The Eagles have now won two straight and are 2-1 on the season.

Seven Eagles scored multiple goals on the day, led by Robbie McGrayne who scored five. Dylan Heald, Braedan Lockyer, and Tim Keefe each had a hat trick for the Eagles.

Lockyer scored just 29 seconds into the game, setting the tone early for the Eagles's offensive explosion. Five Minutes later, Keefe scored his fifth of the year, also unassisted. 

Lockyer would get into the action on the passing side, too, assisting on a goal for Hayden Hindman just 39 seconds after Keefe's goal. The Battlers got on the board at the 7:12 mark, but McGrayne and Lockyer would score the final two goals to take a 5-1 lead after the first.

Just 46 seconds into the the second, the Eagles continued its onslaught as Nck Meier scored his first of two goals, followed by goals from McGrayne, Denike, Lockyer and Heald to put Post up 10-1 at the 8:48 mark.

After the Battlers scored two straight from Mac Call and Cameron Russo, the Eagles ended the half with a flurry, scoring five more times in the final 4:59. Hindman and Lockyer again connected for a goal, followed by goals from Nathan Chalut and McGrayne just seven seconds apart. Nick Meier and Keefe would score the final two goals of the half for the Eagles.

Keefe started the third the wsy he finished the second, with his third goal of the game.to put the Eagles up 16-3. Heald then followed with back-to-back goals just six seconds apart from each other at the 6:38 and 6:32 mark as the Eagles took a commanding 18-6 lead in to the fourth.

Post scored six straight to open the fourth, including two from Leighton Cooke and McGrayne. Zack Gignac and Matthew Santos would close out the scoring for the Eagles.

Heald has now scored nine goals in his last two games, while McGrayne has scored eight in that same time. McGrayne also finished with three assists on the day. Lockyer also finished with three assists on the day. Heald, Keefe, Cooke, Santos, Gignac and James Sproul each had an assist.

The Eagles had 59 ground balls on the dya, led by Jack Longmore and Jaxon Holden with seven. Sproul had six. Holden also dominated the faceoff battle, winning 22 of 32.

Kyle McFadden had a hat trick for the Battlers (0-3).
