Taina Pagan and Deng Deang Named to CACC Honor Roll

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Another week, another award for both Post Men's and Women's Basketball as graduate forward Taina Pagan and junior forward Deng Deang were both named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Honor Roll this past week after helping their teams go a combined 2-1 between the two athletic programs as announced by the league office on Monday.

Taina Pagan - Honor Roll - Women's Basketball
Pagan turned in another dominant week for Post University Women's Basketball as part of a 1-1 week for the Eagles who opened up conference play with a big win at home against Dominican (N.Y.), 88-75. Recording a double-digit point total for the second and third straight games, Pagan opened up the week with a 5-for-10 performance from the floor with 13 points, six rebounds, and five blocks during a loss to Mercy before going 5-for-8 with 14 points, six rebounds, a block, and a steal against Dominican (N.Y.) on Saturday. In all, Pagan finished the week shooting a blistering 55.6% from the floor (10-for-18) while knocking down 7-of-9 free throws, scoring 27 total points, grabbing 12 boards, recording six blocks, three assists, and a steal across two games and 61 minutes for Post.

Deng Deang - Honor Roll - Men's Basketball
Deang came up clutch for Post University Men's Basketball in their opening game on the conference slate over the weekend against Dominican (N.Y.). Recording double-digit point totals for the seventh consecutive game to start the season, Deang played in 30 minutes against the Chargers, shooting 75% from the floor (9-for-12), a perfect 1-for-1 from three, 4-for-6 from the free throw line, and finished with 23 points. None bigger would be his two-point layup with 4.5 seconds left in regulation when Deang missed a free throw but junior point guard Bol Akot located him for the game-winning basket. Shortly after, junior guard Quest Harris came up with a block at the buzzer and Deang secured the rebound, his seventh of the day, to give Post the 79-77 win at home.
