Men's Basketball Breaks into the National Association of Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll For First Time in Program History, Tagged at 20th Nationally Heading into the Holiday

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Heading into the holiday break, Post University Men's Basketball got an early present in the form of making program history yet again when it comes to their national ranking. For the first time in program history, the Eagles found themselves ranked in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) NCAA DII Men's Basketball Top 25, getting ranked 20th nationally in the poll which was released on Thursday before the upcoming holiday break.

The news comes two days after Post moved up in the D2CSC National Poll to 21st overall after being ranked 23rd a week ago. When it comes to the regional and national rankings for the Eagles, they are the second-highest ranked team in both regards among East Region programs behind only St. Thomas Aquinas.

The Spartans are currently atop the East Region in the latest D2CSC East Region Poll with a record of 11-1 on the season and having suffered that sole loss against Post during the 2023 STAC Basketball Classic in overtime, 109-107. As it stands now with Post's current national rankings, only St. Thomas Aquinas is ahead of them in the East Region pack at 15th nationally for the NABC Poll and seventh in the D2CSC National Poll.

Following the holiday break, Post returns to action on December 30th for a matchup against Bloomfield College at 3:00 PM in only the second game of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play. With 17 games remaining in the regular season, 15 of those games will be against CACC opponents and count toward the conference record. Including Post, only five of the 11 teams in the CACC have records above .500 so far this season in Dominican (N.Y.), Bloomfield, Goldey-Beacom, and Wilmington.
