SHELTON, Conn. – Less than 24 hours after a resounding comeback win against Franklin Pierce University, Post University Men's Ice Hockey was back on the ice to take on the Ravens at home on Saturday afternoon down in Shelton, Connecticut looking to keep their momentum rolling. However, the Ravens would stop them in their tracks, using two second-period goals to pave the way for a 2-0 road win as the Eagles split the weekend series against Franklin Pierce.

Franklin Pierce University (6-6-0, 4-4-0 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Following his performance on Friday which netted him his first collegiate win, junior guard
Zach Richards earned the start in net on Saturday, matched up against freshman goalie Maxymilian Banoun. Unlike the previous day which saw six combined goals in the first period, both goalies would stop every shot they faced in the opening 20 minutes with Richards stopping eight shots by the Ravens and Banoun halting 14 total pucks fired his way by the Eagles.
Two second period goals by the Ravens would help them get on the scoreboard and take the lead after sophomore forward Tyson Springer opened the scoring for the second straight game on a power play goal from sophomore defenseman Cameron Lawhorne. Lawhorne's initial shot would deflect off Richards and find the stick of Springer who fired into the left side of the open net.
Similar to a day ago, the goals would come in quick succession for the Ravens as senior forward Trevor Lawler put one by Richards just 50 seconds later in the frame. Lawler would be fed a pass from the right side by sophomore forward Devin Rohrich and hit the point-blank shot from the left side of the ice, extending the Franklin Pierce to two goals after two periods.
A quiet third period saw just a combined 18 shots on goal over the final 20 minutes of action with Post holding a 13-5 edge in the category. However, neither team would be able to find the back of the net despite the Ravens having two power plays and Post having one, as Franklin Pierce completed the weekend split with a 2-0 road win over the Eagles.
