COLCHESTER, Vt. – Four players finished with double-digit points for Post University Women's Basketball while the Eagles held off a fourth quarter rally by Saint Michael's College that saw their lead shrink to two points with 6:17 left to earn their first road victory of the season, 73-61, on Saturday afternoon.
The win snapped a four-game road losing streak to start the season for Post as graduate guard
Trinity Bravo led the way with a team-high 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting which included a perfect 2-for-2 day from beyond the arc and 4-for-4 performance from the line. The mark was Bravo's highest single-game point total of the season, surpassing last game's 14-point effort against Dominican (N.Y.) after she missed the team's last game against AIC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Eagles would get things going early after falling behind 4-0 after back-to-back baskets from senior guard Paige Slaven and freshman guard Amber Furch. Going on a 9-0 run fueled by five points from graduate point guard
Dede Stevenson, Post would take an early 9-4 advantage. Stevenson would end up finishing the day with 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting while recording four steals, three assists, and three rebounds.
Responding with a run of their own, the Purple Knights took back the lead, 11-9, with a 7-0 run of their own which was halted by graduate guard
TiJanae Simmons' lone three of the afternoon. With the game tied at 16 all, two free throws by Slaven with 22 seconds left would help Saint Michael's take an 18-16 lead into the second quarter of play.
A hot start to the second quarter would see the Eagles regain a five-point edge, 23-18, after graduate shooting guard
Maya Klein's three and back-to-back jumpers from Bravo. Post would not relinquish the lead again until the fourth quarter, closing out a first half which saw them shoot 57.6% from the field (15-of-26) and making 4-of-7 three pointers to hold a seven-point lead, 34-27, heading into the half. The Eagles led by as many as nine points in the first 20 minutes when junior guard
Naj White hit a jumper with 1:01 left in the second.
The lead would remain steady in the third for Post until graduate forward
Taina Pagan made it an eight-point game, 40-32, before the Purple Knights worked their way back into the contest. A flurry of threes and a 7-0 run overall by Saint Michael's saw them tie the game up for the first time since it was 16 all in the first quarter at 42 all. Threes by Bravo and Klein around a free throw from junior guard Brianna Furch helped swing momentum back in the Eagles' favor as they entered the fourth clinging to a two-point lead, 50-48.
Starting the fourth with a layup from Slaven and free throw from Amber Furch, Saint Michael's took the lead back with 9:11 to go, 51-50, for the final time in the game. Paced by five points from Bravo and three from graduate point guard
Le'Sandra Turner, an 8-0 run for the Eagles put them in front for good. While freshman guard Bella Franchi's five points that followed the run brought the Purple Knights within two, Post would attempt 17 free throws down the stretch, canning 14 of them while only needing to shoot from the field seven times to secure the victory, 73-61, pulling away in the closing minutes for their first road win of the season.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Trinity Bravo scored a career-high 16 points in the game, doing so on 5-of-6 shooting, a 4-for-4 day from the line, and draining a pair of threes
- With her 15-point game, Taina Pagan has now reached double digits in four of the last five games for Post University – Dede Stevenson and Maya Klein have each scored 10-plus points in three straight games now
- After starting the season 0-4 away from the Drubner Center, Post University got their first road win of the season with the victory over Saint Michael's – Post finished 10-5 on the road last season and 1-2 in neutral site games
- The win over St. Michael's marks the first time in program history in which Post University has defeated the Purple Knights, dropping the first three matchups between the two teams dating back to the 2014-15 season
WHO'S NEXT
Post University gets into their conference schedule which will make up all but one of their games the rest of their regular season after the holiday break. The Eagles return to action on December 30
th for a Saturday afternoon matchup against Bloomfield College slated for 1:00 PM. While 11-29 all-time against the Bears, Post has won seven straight against their CACC opponent dating back to the 2018-19 campaign and in their most recent game in February, won 82-76 at home.
