WATERBURY, Conn. -- After a stellar week which saw him set a program record, Post University Men's Basketball junior point guard Bol Akot was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. 

Akot had a record-breaking week for the Eagles who went 3-0 last week with wins against AIC, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Mercy University to start the season 5-0, the best start in program history. Akot scored 41 points against the regionally-ranked Spartans in a 109-107 overtime victory on Saturday in which he would hit the game-winning jumper with 2.0 seconds left on the clock. The junior finished that game 11-of-18 from the floor and 19-for-24 from the free throw line. On the week, Akot scored 58 points on 17-of-26 shooting (65.4%) which was the best on the team for players shooting more than 20 shots this week, 23-for-30 from the charity stripe (76.7%), grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out five assists, recorded three steals, and one block.

Post University returns to the floor on Sunday against Southern New Hampshire University at 3:30 PM inside the Drubner Center.
