Bol Akot was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Akot had a record-breaking week for the Eagles who went 3-0 last week with wins against AIC, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Mercy University to start the season 5-0, the best start in program history. Akot scored 41 points against the regionally-ranked Spartans in a 109-107 overtime victory on Saturday in which he would hit the game-winning jumper with 2.0 seconds left on the clock. The junior finished that game 11-of-18 from the floor and 19-for-24 from the free throw line. On the week, Akot scored 58 points on 17-of-26 shooting (65.4%) which was the best on the team for players shooting more than 20 shots this week, 23-for-30 from the charity stripe (76.7%), grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out five assists, recorded three steals, and one block.
Post University returns to the floor on Sunday against Southern New Hampshire University at 3:30 PM inside the Drubner Center.
