McGee Spooks Golden Falcons, Leads Women's Soccer to Victory in Season Finale

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – With the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament out of reach for Post University Women's Soccer, the Eagles looked to close out the season on a high note on the road against Felician University on Saturday afternoon in Rutherford, New Jersey. Using two early goals, including the sixth of the season for senior defender Amber McGee, Post held on for the 2-1 victory over the Golden Falcons, ending the season winners in two of their last three matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Junior midfielder Larissa Bluntschli opened the scoring for the Eagles just seven minutes into the match, when Amber McGee and senior midfielder Sierra Tarantino helped manufacture the first goal of the game for either side. This was the seventh match this season in which Post scored first against their opponent.
 
Tarantino would play a role in what would end up beign a crucial second goal for the Eagles as she hit Amber McGee with a pass in the 15th minute, giving Post their second goal of the match in just 14:46 to open up play, a lead that would ultimately hold up the rest of the way.
 
Sophomore defender Kate Braun would cut into the deficit for the Golden Falcons when she teamed up with sophomore forward Jalyn Tse in the 32nd minute to beat freshman goalkeeper Alexis Campbell to make it 2-1.
 
From there, Campbell would settle down in net, finishing the match with a total of three saves in the victory while her opposition in senior goalkeeper Alexis Lambertino would stop four Post shots. Across the board, the Eagles would dominate the match, outshooting Felician 15-8 overall, 6-4 in shots on goal, and 6-0 in total shots in the second half. The Post offense would also tally seven corner kicks to just one for the Golden Falcons.
