SPARKILL, N.Y. -- With their eyes set on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament this weekend, Post University Women's Tennis had one final regular season tune-up in hopes of heading into their matchup against top-seeded Wilmington University on a high note. Taking on St. Thomas Aquinas on the road, the Eagles would be unable to do so, dropping their fifth consecutive match as they were swept by the Spartans, 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Post University would snag one of the doubles matches as the #3 Doubles went to graduate student
Annunciata De-Souza and sophomore
Natalia Gonzalez Ramos against junior Amanda Kadiri and graduate student Elisa Demmartin, 6-3. The #1 Doubles featuring junior
Megan Lombardt and sophomore
Micaela Rosignuolo went in favor of senior Ebba Rosberg and senior Samanta Villegas Robles, 6-4.
Rounding out the first set of matches in the #2 Doubles, junior
Nina Langenfeld and senior
Oceane Mallevre would fall against seniors Jemima Parkinson and Elita Silins, 6-1, as the Spartans secured the doubles point.
It was a straight sweep through the singles as well for St. Thomas Aquinas with Mallevre, Silins, and Langenfeld all falling in the #3 through #5 Singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-2 to Semmartin, Silins, and Kadiri, respectively. In the #1 Singles, De-Souza would retire after falling in the first set 6-3 against Rosberg while Gonzalez Ramos faltered against freshman Kateryna Kryuchkova in straight sets by identical 6-0 scores.
Rounding out the day of matches in a tight #2 Singles was Rosignuolo who was unable to overcome graduate student Viktoriia Pavlovets, losing 6-4 and then 7-4 after going to a tiebreaker in the second set to secure the 7-0 sweep for the Spartans.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Oceane Mallevre and Nina Langenfeld are now 0-2 this season as a doubles duo having teamed up in the #3 and #2 Doubles for the past two matches
- Annunciata De-Souza, closes the regular season with an overall record of 10-3 on the season including a perfect 4-0 in #2 Singles play
- Four of the eight Post University players from this fall will enter the tournament with records at or above .500 in singles this year
- This is the second time this season in which Post University has been swept in a match, the first coming against Jefferson University back on October 13th
WHO'S NEXT
Post University heads into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament on Friday morning as the fourth seed and will take on top-seeded Wilmington University at 10:00 AM at the Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, Delaware. The Wildcats swept the pair of matches between the two sides with the most recent matchup coming at the Delcastle Tennis Center in which it was a 4-3 victory for them.
