Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Haines, Pagan, Lead Women's Basketball To Fourth Straight Win At Alliance

Jersey City, N.J. - Sha'Raya Haines hit all three of her three-pointers and Taina Pagan had a double-double as the Post University women's basketball team won its fourth straight game in a 69-43 win over Alliance on Tuesday evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.

Post is now 14-9 overall and 9-3 in the CACC and remain in first place in the CACC North Division. Alliance is now 2-16 overall and 2-10 in conference.

Haines finished with 14 points on the day and Pagan had ten points, ten rebounds and four blocks for her first double-double of the season. Tyree Allen had 12 points and four rebounds and Tyara McQueen had ten points.

Post was trailing 6-5 at the 6:20 mark in the first quarter before the Eagles scored the next 14 points, with 12 of those points coming on threes. Haines hit two, and Allen and Tijanae Simmons each hit one. Post took a 19-10 lead into the second quarter.

The Eagles scored the first nine points of the second quarter, taking a 28-10 lead after baskets by Jailah White, Allen and a three from McQueen. Alliance responded with a 10-2 run of their own behind five points from Raquel Crooke-Losada, but Haines would get fouled on a three, and sank all three attempts to put the Eagles back up 33-20. Back-to-back layups from Allen put Post up 37-22 heading to the half.

Post effectively put the game away in the third, once again scoring the first nine points as White and Haines both hit threes to put Post up 46-22. The Eagles shot 7-for-10 from the free-throw line and held Alliance to 5-for-15 from the field in the quarter.

Alliance wouldn't get any closer than 23 points the rest of the way.

White finished seven points. Simmons had six points and nine rebounds. The Eagles dominated on the boards, 52-30 and turned 15 offensive rebounds into nine second chance points.

The Eagles swept the season-series with Alliance, holding them to 37 points per game. Post has won nine straight against Alliance.

Crooke-Losada finished with 11 points. Nia Lariosa finished with a team-high 14 points.
