Orangeburg, N.Y. – The Post University women's lacrosse team's season came to an end in a 26-12 loss to Dominican on Tuesday afternoon in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) quarterfinals.
The Eagles finished their season 5-12.
Morgan Cassiliano scored seven goals on the day, ending the season with 79 goals, a school record in a single season. She also has 190 goals in her career, extending her already broken school record.
Down 3-0 in the first, Lexi Levy got the sixth-seeded Eagles on the board in a man-up situation, making it a 3-1 game. Cassiliano would score twice in the period as the No. 3 Chargers (13-4) took an 8-3 lead after the first.
Cassiliano scored the first three goals of the second period for Post, but the Eagles were outscored 10-5 in the second as Dominican's Jordana Tomassetti scored five of her team-high six goals in the period. Lotanna Nwabudu and Molly Dobratz also had goals in the second. The Chargers led 18-8 heading into halftime.
Cassiliano added two more goals in the second half and Levy and Dobratz each scored their second goal of the game.
Dobratz finished the season with 25 goals, tying Cara DiStefano for second most on the team. Cassiliano finished with 91 points, extending her school record for points in a season. Cassiliano and Hailey McHenry both had 12 assists to lead the Eagles this season.
Erica Ortiz, along with Tomasetti also had six goals for the Chargers.
