Baseball Splits Doubleheader With Saint Anselm

High Point, N.C. - The Post University baseball team split a doubleheader with Saint Anselm on Saturday afternoon. After dropping game one, 15-7, the Eagles won game two, 12-2.

In game two, the Eagles bats were on fire early and often, scoring three times in the first inning, the last run coming on an RBI single by Robert Olah that scored Brycin Hernandez.

After the Hawks answered with two of their own in the top of the second, Post loaded the bases with one out for Nate Miller who doubled to drive in Michael Pavelchak and Rian Balbino who both walked. Evan Cornwell followed with an RBI single before Olah's fielder's choice plated Miller.

Hernandez put the game away in the bottom of the third, hitting a three-run homer that scored Balbino, who singled and Hunter Keller, who doubled.

Post would tack on two more in the bottom fot he sixth on a two-run double by Keller.

On the hill, Dan Raglievich was stellar, pitching six innings giving up two earned runs on four hits and three walks with eight strikeouts, earning his second win of the season.

Hernandez was 1-for-2 with three runs and three RBI.Keller was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In game one, the Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead after a two-run single by Jimmy Brennan.

The Hawks responded with a grand slam in the bottom of the inning by Kyle Maurice, but Olah cut the deficit to one with a solo shot of his own, making it a 4-3 game.

The Hawks would end up scoring, one in the bottom of the second and third, and five more in the bottom of the fifth to take a 12-3 lead, as they hit three solo homers.

Post added two in the sixth, highlighted by an RBI double by Olah, who also added an RBI single in the seventh.

Olah finished the day 3-for-4 with one run and three RBI. Pavelchak was 3-for-3 with a run and RBI. Cornwell scored two runs and Harry Allegra was 2-for-4 with two runs.

Maurice had five RBI for the Hawks.

Matt Goehrig struck out eight in four innings for the Eagles.
