Cassiliano Scores Five Times In Women's Lacrosse Loss To Saint Rose

Waterbury, Conn. - Morgan Cassiliano scored five times, but the Post University women's lacrosse team lost a 17-7 game to Saint Rose on Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field. 

With the loss, the Eagles are 1-3 on the season.

Post struck first in the game on a Cara Distefano goal, her sixth of the year to put Post up, 1-0 at the 12:40 mark.

Saint Rose responded with two goals in 2:20 to take a 2-1 lead before Cassiliano scored her first of the game coming from around the net and putting a shot past Dorthy Gaffney at the 9:08 mark to give tie the game.

The Golden Knights scored the next three in the first and the first two in the second before Cassiliano's second goal of the game making it a 7-3 game. Saint Rose would hold a 12-3 lead going into the half.

With the score 13-3, Cassiliano added her third goal of the game on an assist from Lexi Levy to make it a 13-4 game at the 2:57 mark. The Golden Knights scored the final two goals of the period to lead 15-4 after three.

Cassiliano added two more goals in the fourth and Gabrielle Fiora added one for the final tally for the Eagles.

In net, Christina Badaracco had ten saves.

For Cassiliano, it is the 12th game of her career she's scored five or more goals and second time this season. She also had five goals in Post's opening game of the season against Saint Michael's.

Daria Bock had four goals for Saint Rose, while Eileen Rattigan and Lauren Pendergast each had a hat trick.
