Philadelphia, Pa. – Sha'Raya Haines led the Eagles with 25 points in a 70-63 Post University women's basketball loss to Jefferson in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup on Saturday afternoon.
Tai Pagan chipped in with 11 points, seven rebounds and four blocks and
Makayla Thompson had six points and seven rebounds.
After falling behind 10-6 in the first quarter, the Eagles took their first lead of the game at 13-12 after a 7-2 run with baskets from Haines,
Amaya Santiago and Pagan. The Rams (16-5, 8-3 CACC) scored the final four points to take a 16-13 lead after the first quarter.
The Rams took a 27-18 lead in the second before the Eagles went on a 12-6 run thanks to three-pointers from Haines and
Jaeonna Sutton to cut their deficit to 33-30. The Rams would lead at the half, 39-32.
Post (12-6, 6-4 CACC) got to within three points at 39-36 after Pagan scored the first four points of the second half, but it was the closest the Eagles would get in the third.
Jefferson extended its lead to 12 points in the fourth and the Eagles wouldn't get close than six points the rest of the way.
The Eagles' bench outscored the Rams, 32-19 and converted their 24 offensive rebounds to 20 second chance points.
Haley Meinel led Jefferson in scoring with 26 points. Morgan Robinson had 14 assists.
