Shelton, Conn. - The Post University women's hockey team lost a 5-1 New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) game to Long Island University in their final regular season game of the season.
The Eagles finish their regular season 6-25-0 and 3-17-0 in NEWHA.
After a scoreless first period, the Sharks scored three in the second, their first coming 24 seconds into the period by Abby Latorella.Â
Down 4-0 in the third, the Eagles scored their lone goal of the game by
Jenna Abeyta to make it a 4-1 game at the 14:04 mark for her fifth goal of the season.
The Sharks tagged on one more goal less than a minute later.
Kristin Smith and
Kaitlyn Daly split time in net. Smith had 23 saves, while Daly had 13. Both were honored before the game during Senior Day.
