Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's basketball team lost a 66-47 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game to University of the Sciences (USciences) on Saturday afternoon at the Drubner Center.
The Eagles are now 13-7 on the season and 7-5 in the CACC. They remain in first place in the CACC North as the Devils are 17-3 overall and 12-2 in the CACC.
Sha'Raya Haines and
Kyla Ramseur led the Eagles with 15 points apiece.
Post took a 17-10 lead after the first quarter behind seven points from Ramseur. The Eagles hit three three-pointers in the quarter.
The Eagles led by as much as eight points in the second quarter at 20-12 after a three from
Amaya Santiago, before a 7-0 run from the Devils. Post went back up by four on a three from Haines. The two teams would go into the half tied, 30-30.
USciences took control in the third quarter early on scoring the first six points of the quarter before the Eagles responded with the next five, the final three points coming on a three-pointer from Haines. The Devils scored the final nine points of the quarter and led 45-35 heading into the final quarter.
The Eagles got as close as seven points in the fourth quarter, but a 14-4 run by USciences closed out the game for the Devils.
Haines also added eight rebounds.
Tai Pagan had eight points and seven rebounds.
Jess Huber led USciences with 30 points and four rebounds. Harlem Jennings chipped in with 15.
Up next, the Eagles head to Goldey-Beacom for a CACC game at 3 p.m. on Feb. 17.
