Manchester, N.H. - The Post University women's basketball team lost a 62-43 non-conference game so Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) on Friday evening.
The loss puts the Eagles at 7-4 overall. SNHU moves to 6-2.
Post took a 15=12 lead after the first quarter, led by six points from
Tyree Allen. Post didn't allow a point in the final 2"35 of the quarter.
The Penmen took a 34-23 lead into the half after finishing the quarter on a 16-5 run.
Post quickly cut the deficit to five at 34-29 after back-to-back threes from
Lauren Murphy and
Tyara McQueen to begin the third. SNHU followed with a 10-2 run to go back up 44-31, with the final six points of the run coming from Adriana Timberlake. The Penmen led by as much as 15 at 48-33, but the Eagles closed with a 6-0 run, the final four points coming from McQueen to make it a 48-39 game going into the fourth.
The Penmen pulled away in the fourth, outscoring the Eagles 14-4.
Allen led the Eagles with eight points. McQueen had six points, three rebounds and three assists.
Jayden Burns scored seven.
Jess Knight led SNHU with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Timberlake finished with 19 points.
