Bronx, N.Y. - The Post University women's basketball team lost an exhibition game to Fordham, 85-54 on Wednesday.
The Eagles were led by Tyara McQUeen, who finished with ten points. Sha'Raya Haines and
Roxkel Washington each had eight.
Post fell behind 8-0 to begin the game, but rallied to cut the deficit to 16-14 with 1:32 remaining capped by back-to-back threes from McQueen. The Rams scored the final five of the first quarter to lead 21-14 going into the second.
The Eagles battled back to within one point at 25-24 at the 5:17 mark after buckets from
Taina Pagan, However, Fordham finished the quarter on an 11-3 run, including the last seven points to go up 36-27 at the half.
Fordham scored the first 13 points of the third, staking themselves to a 49-27 lead as the Eagles finally got on the board in the quarter on a three from Haines at the 5:24 mark. Haines finished with six of her points in the quarter as the Rams went into the final quarter leading, 60-36. It would be as close as the Eagles would get the rest of the way as the Rams put the game away in the fourth.
Pagan finished with six points, five rebounds and two blocks. Washington had a team-high six rebounds.
Anna DeWolfe led three players in double figures for Fordham with 18 points. Asiah Dingle scored 15, while Kaitlyn Downey had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Up next, the Eagles return to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action as they head to Georgian Court on New Year's Eve for a noon tip-off.
