Women's Basketball Wins Third Straight, Trounces D'Youville

The win moves the Eagles to 4-1 on the season, while the Saints are now 1-3.

Eubanks finished with 18 points and ten rebounds, while Washington had 11 points and 14 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Tijanae Simmons had 14 points, while Lauren Murphy had 13.

A competitive first quarter put the Eagles up 16-15 as Murphy hit two threes and Eubanks went 3-for-5 from the field. D'Youville would hold its only lead of the game at 2-0.

Post wasted no time pulling away once the second quarter rolled around, scoring the first nine points, as Eubanks had four points and Simmons hit a three-pointer in the run. The Eagles extended its lead to as much as 15 points on two different occasions and held the Saints to just two points over the first 6:30 of the quarter before the Eagles went into the half leading 37-24.

The Saints trimmed the Eagles lead to eight points at 47-39 after going on an 8-0 run as Izabella Zirzow did most of the damage during the stretch, scoring six of her team-high 13 points. Post finished the final 3:10 on a 12-3 run as Simmons and Murphy hit a three as well as four points from Tyara McQueen, putting Post up, 59-42.

The Eagles allowed just four points in the fourth quarter, holding the Saints 2-for-15 shooting. Eight different Eagles scored at least two points in the quarter.

Jamie Waldron finished with eight points and four rebounds. McQueen finished with seven. The Eagles outrebounded the Saints, 47-26 and turned 14 offensive rebounds into 13 second chance points. 

Up next, the Eagles make the trek to Alaska where they will play two games. On Friday, Nov. 25, the Eagles will take on University of Alaska-Fairbanks at 11:30 p.m., and on Saturday will play Montana State University-Billings at 9 p.m. Both games will be available to stream.
