Waterbury, CT– Imani Young scored a late first half goal and the two teams blanked each other in the second half as the Post University women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with Chestnut Hill in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Saturday afternoon.
With Chestnut Hill leading 1-0 heading into the half,
Jada Starks kicked a deep ball that
Fitore Kllobocishta received, who passed the ball off to Young who was standing right in front of the net. Young tapped the ball in for her second goal of the season with 25 seconds remaining in the first half.
For Starks and Kllobocischta, it was both their first assist of the season.
Chestnut Hill's Madeline Jimenez gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead in the 29
th minute before Young's goal.
Post leads the all-time series, 8-5-2 and are 6-0-2 in the last eight meetings.
The Eagles outshot the Griffins, 14-9, with
Hailey McGee leading the way with five.
Imelda Lazaro had five saves for the Eagles. Kaitlyn Carter had nine saves for the Griffins.
The Eagles are now 8-6-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the CACC and sit in third place. Chestnut Hill is now 7-4-3 overall and 4-2-3 in the CACC.
Post will play Caldwell on the road at 3 p.m. on October 19 in a CACC match.
