Late Goal Propels Women's Soccer Over Caldwell In CACC Opener

New Haven, Conn. - The Post University volleyball team dropped a five set thriller, 3-2 to Franklin Pierce in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon.
THE RUNDOWN:
- Madelyn Boop led Post with a match-high 28 kills. Aniya Goodman and Jayda Roman each ended with eight kills. Elizabeth McGrath had a match-high 40 assists.
- Defensively, Niah Messidor led the Eagles with three blocks, while McGrath and Datari Mathis each had two. Kim Buttery collected 25 digs.
- Ingrid Lindstrom led Franklin Pierce with 16 kills, while Kennedy Garnhart ended with 33 assists. Cierra Dolan led the Ravens with 33 assists.
- The first set started off competitive before the Eagles took complete control. With a 15-10 lead, Post pushed the pace, going on a 7-0 run behind a strong serve from Lydimar Soto De Los Santos. The Ravens only managed four more points the rest of the way.
- The Ravens settled into the match in the second set, picking up an opening 10-6 lead. Post responded moments later, tying the set at 11-11, before trading points with Franklin Pierce down the stretch. With the set tied at 20-20, Post captured the lead for good on a Goodman kill.
- With a 2-0 lead, Post opened the third set with a 4-0 run on back-to-back Boop kills and two Raven errors. Franklin Pierce refused to go down quietly, fighting its way back into the set, eventually capturing a 25-20 win.
- The win in the third set inspired the Ravens who carried the momentum into the fourth set, capturing a 25-18 win, forcing a fifth set.
- The deciding set was a scrappy back and forth that saw seven ties. With the set tied at 15-15, the Ravens did enough to pull out the come from behind victory.
