Game Recap: Baseball |

Baseball Leads Early In Both Games, But Fall To Goldey-Beacom

Hockessin, De. – The Post University baseball team led both games early, but lost both ends of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon to Goldey-Beacom, 13-3 and 13-2.

Post took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second in game one on an RBI single from Evan Wilkinson to score Robert Olah – who walked – followed by a sacrifice fly from Evan Mazako to score Bryon Carr, who doubled.

The Lightning would score three in the bottom of the inning and five more in the fourth – including four on a grand slam from Connor Megginson to take an 8-2 lead.

The Eagles (2-16, 2-16 CACC) answered back with a sacrifice fly from Brycin Hernandez to score Devon Ogston, but it would be all the offense the Eagles would get the rest of the way and Goldey-Beacom scored five runs over the course of the next two innings.

Wilkinson finished the game 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Megginson finished with two home runs for the Lightning.

In game two, the Eagles opened up the scoring in the top of the first on an RBI double from Harry Allegra to score Hernandez, followed by an RBI single from Olah to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.

The Lightning (20-6, 19-6 CACC) responded with one in first and four in the second on a grand slam from Mason Maxwell. He hit a second home run in the fourth as part of a four-run inning.

Eric Galaraza went 2-for-3 for the Eagles.

The Eagles will close out their regular season with a home doubleheader against Caldwell, beginning at 4 p.m. at Municipal Stadium on May 6.
