Lyndhurst, N.J. –The Post University women's lacrosse team scored the first six goals and extended its winning streak to three games as it defeated Felician, 14-3 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game.
Cara DiStefano and Morgan Cassiliano each had four goals to lead Post, while Molly Dobratz added three.
The three game winning streak is the longest in the history of the women's lacrosse program at Post as the Eagles improved their record to 4-1 on the season.
It was a defensive battle over the first six and a half minutes of the game before Dobratz broke the game's scoring draught with her third goal of the season at the 23:26 mark of the first half. DiStefano followed with her first of the game less than a minute later, while Cassiliano scored her first at the 20:03 mark.
DiStefano added two more and Dobratz added one more in the half, as the Eagles led 6-1 after the first 30 minutes.
The second half was a continuation of the first half as the Eagles exerted their will early on with a goal by Lauren Chambers just over three minutes into the second half.
Megan Diamond added two goals and two assists in the second half while Cassiliano scored three of her goals, including the last two in the second half. Cassiliano now has 23 goals on the season, which is good for third in the CACC.
The Eagles dominated possession all game, outshooting Felician, 30-13, while winning 11 of the 19 draw controls. Chambers and Julia Thomas each had had three draw controls.
Diamond gathered seven of the Eagles 26 ground balls on the day while forcing three turnovers.
The Eagles defense has been stifling over the last two games, allowing just seven goals to its opponents.
Christina Badaracco finished with five saves on the day.
The Eagles will return to LaMoy Field for its final regular season home game as they host Nyack at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 22.
