Down Ten Points In Fourth, Women’s Basketball Rallies To Beat Bloomfield For Sixth Straight Win

Bloomfield, N.J.– The Post University women's basketball team rallied from a ten-point fourth quarter deficit to win its sixth straight game, a 68-60 triumph of Bloomfield in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Tuesday evening.

The win puts the Eagles at 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the CACC.

Sha'Raya Haines finished with a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Kyla Ramseur had a team-high 21 points.

The Eagles entered the fourth quarter trailing 51-41. After the two teams exchanged the first six points, Post scored the next 13 points started by a three from Haines. Jaeonna Sutton scored six points during the run, all coming on a layup while getting fouled and making the subsequent free throw.

With the Eagles up 59-58, Haines made a layup to push the lead back to three points at the 3:03 mark. The Eagles would make seven of their eight free throws down the stretch to preserve the win. Post forced Bloomfield into 26.7 percent shooting (4-for-15) in the final quarter and outscored the Bears 27-9.

The Bears took an 18-12 lead after the first quarter, finishing the frame on a 9-3 run. Ramseur hit two three-pointers in the quarter.

Post trimmed its deficit to two points at 32-30 at the half after the Eagles hit four three-pointers from four different players. Haines, Tyree Allen, Ramseur and Roxkel Washington all hit a three to close the deficit.

Bloomfield (2-6, 0-2 CACC) increased its lead to ten in the third behind six points apiece from Jaylah Bennett and Siani Smith. Bennett finished with a team-high 19 points.

The Eagles bench, led by Ramseur, outscored the Bears, 38-8. It is the fourth straight game Ramseur – who made this week's CACC Honor Roll – has scored 20 or more points in the game, all off the bench.

Allen, Sutton and Makayla Thompson all finished with seven points on the day. Tai Pagan had ten rebounds, her second straight game with ten rebounds.

Up next, the Eagles take a little road trip up to Saint Michael's on December 12 in a non-conference game for a noon tip.
