Post Men's Soccer Advances In NCAA Tournament With 4-1 Win Over Lock Haven

Rindge, N.H. – The Post University men's soccer put together a dominant performance in a 4-1 victory over Lock Haven in the Super Region 1 First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday at Sodexo Field on the campus of Franklin Pierce University.

The win advances the Eagles to the next round where they will face No. 1 Franklin Pierce on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Sergio Diaz got the scoring started in the 30th minute, taking a pass just out of the penalty area from William Nordkvist and put home a 20 yard shot to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead. It was the eighth goal of the season for Diaz

Post went into half with the one goal lead and added to it early in the second half Sergio Sanchez sent a shot off the post back which bounced off of Lock Haven goalkeeper Aitor Ruiz De Eguilaz to put Post up, 2-0 in the 49th minute.

The Eagles added in another goal at the 71st minute as Andrea Savio scored his third goal of the season, taking a pass from Pablo Tenorio in the left side of the box and put a shot to the lower right corner to give Post the 3-0 lead.

After the Bald Eagles scored their lone goal in the 83rd minute on a goal from Connor Burke, Tenorio put one in himself in the 86th minute, taking a pass from Ygor Silva on the right side and driving it through the lower left corner of the net to put the game away for the Eagles.

David Mollenthiel won his 11th straight game in net, stopping two shots on the day.

The win marks the 11th straight for Post, extending a school record. The Eagles are now 13-5-1 on the season.
