Philadelphia, Pa. - The Post University volleyball team picked up its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 to host Jefferson and snapping their three game winning streak.
THE RUNDOWN:
- Madelynn Boop, who is fresh off a CACC Player of the Week nod, paced the Eagles with 14 kills. Kaitlyn Sharkey chipped in nine, while Datari Mathis finished with six. Elizabeth McGrath led Post with 26 assists.
- Nelly Diaz led all players with 16 digs, while Boop had six.
- The Rams were led by 19 kills from Jess Molen, while Kristine Guenther led all players with 34 assists.
- Post took the lead early in the opening set with help from several Jefferson errors. The Rams tied the set at 7-7, which started the exchange of points. Post found a way to take control of the set late, running up a 19-15 advantage with help from Kills by Mathis and Sharkey. Jefferson battled back once again tying the contest. With the set locked up at 25-25, Jefferson scored the final two points of the set to take the win.
- The Rams kept the Eagles on their heels most of the second set, stringing together both a 4-0 run and a 7-0 run en route to a 25-15 win.
- In set three the Eagles took it to the Rams, battling for points early, and taking an 11-9 lead. The set turned in the Rams favor with a strong serve by Morgan Ritchie that broke a 12-12 tie and handed Jefferson the lead for good.
