Waterbury, Conn. – Freshman Nick Meier scored a game-winning overtime goal to give the Post University men's lacrosse team its first win of the season, a 15-14 thriller over the University of the District of Columbia on Wednesday at LaMoy Field.
Meier scored three goals on the day. The Eagles started the period with the ball as the Firebirds was in the midst of a penalty. After the Eagles passed the ball around for a few seconds, Meier took a pass from junior Justin Nogueira and whipped it past Firebirds goalkeeper Matt Miller to give the Eagles the win as his teammates piled on top of him.

The Firebirds scored the next six goals to tie the game at the 9:14 mark before Kelleher put the Eagles back up with his third goal of the game.
The teams would go back and forth and the Eagles took a 14-13 lead with a goal from Baker with 3:41 left. UDC's Joseph Cote would tie the game at 2:07, sending the game to overtime.
