Albany, N.Y. – After a tightly contested first half, the Post University women's lacrosse fell to The College of Saint Rose, 16-10 on Tuesday in a non-conference game.
Freshman
Cara DiStefano led the Eagles with five goals for her fourth multi-goal game of the season.
Post took command early with goals from sophomore
Morgan Cassiliano and freshman
Athlyn Wood. After a goal from the Golden Knights cut the lead in half, DiStefano scored her first goal of the game of the 19:31 mark of the first half.
Saint Rose would score the next three goals to take their first lead of the game at the 11:40 mark before DiStefano's second goal of the game tied the game at 9:32. She'd tie the game again at 5-5 with 2:24 left before the Golden Knights scored once more before the half to take a 6-5 lead.
With a man up, Wood would score to open the second half on an assist from senior
Jaylene Souto to make it a 6-6 game. The teams would tie the game up one more time as DiStefano scored her fourth of the game at 24:07 to make it a 7-7 game.
The Golden Knights scored the next three goals before Cassiliano made it a 10-8 game with her second goal, and DiStefano would make it an 11-9 game at 12:59. However, Saint Rose would score the next five games to put the game away, with Cassiliano scoring one more.
DiStefano – the reigning CACC Rookie of the Week, has scored in every game this season, and currently leads the CACC in goals with 19.
The Eagles were successful on 16 of their 23 clears, and outshot Saint Rose, 31-26.

Christina Badaracco stopped eight shots on the day.
The Eagles open up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at Holy Family on March 21 at noon.
