The Post University men's soccer team looks to continue its hot start to the season as it hosts Le Moyne, the no. 4 ranked team in the East Region in a non-conference match on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Post is 3-1-1 on the young season and 2-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, one of three CACC teams undefeated in conference play. Post's only loss of the season came to the country's number No. 1 team, Adelphi to open the season on September 5, while tying Southern New Hampshire on September 11, who was ranked eighth at the time.
The Eagles are currently on a three-game winning streak, beginning with a thrilling 3-2 win over Bentley, capped by a game-winning goal from Francesco Pereinelli. They followed with two straight clean sheets over Jefferson (2-0) on September 21 and Nyack (3-0) on September 24th.
Post and Le Moyne have only played twice in their history, with Post holding the 1-0-1 edge. Their last match was in 2012, a 5-0 Post win.
Reigning CACC player of the year, junior Sergio Diaz has picked up right where he left off a season ago, leading the Eagles in goals with four, and is tied for the CACC lead in assists with five. Diaz has scored in three straight games. Alvaro Sanchez is second on the team with three goals, while Sergio Sanchez and Pereinelli each have two.
Le Moyne, out of the NE10, is off to a hot start on the season, beginning 5-1 with its only loss to No. 1 Adelphi. They sit third in the conference.
The Dolphins took down Jefferson of the CACC, 8-0 on September 8 and Daemen, 7-1.
Robert Rohrhirsch leads the team with six goals and tied for the team lead with three assists. Goran Naric has five and two, respectively. Nine different players have scored for Le Moyne.
