Schwack Scores Four Goals, But Eagles Lose To Dominican In CACC Match

Waterbury, Conn. - Senior Savannah Schwack (Manorville, N.Y.) scored four goals and freshman Morgan Cassiliano (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored three and the Eagles held a halftime lead, but ultimately fell to Dominican, 18-12 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game.

The two teams swapped the first six goals of the game, as Dominican struck first with 27:08 to take a 1-0 lead. Cassiliano answered quickly with a goal at 25:05 tied the game. After another goal from the Chargers, Schwack scored at 19:35 to tie the game at two. Jenna Fox of Dominican would score her second of four goals at 17:29 before Cassiliano scored back-to-back goals, the first assisted by freshman Molly Dobratz (Southington, Conn.) to give Post its first lead of the game, 4-3 at the 15:21 mark.

Dominican scored two straight to take a 5-4 lead, but Post answered with three straight of their own as Schwack scored two during the run in between a goal from junior Jaylene Souto (Middletown, R.I.).

Dominican would score with 3:46 as Alayna Heegan cut Post's lead to 7-6 heading into the half.

Senior Aolani Hermosura (Stamford, Conn.) opened up the second half with a goal at 28:42 before Dominican scored five of the next six goals to take an 11-9 lead. Hermosura scored the lone goal in the stretch, her second of the game. After senior Lauren Chambers (Lebanon, Pa.) cut Dominican's lead to 11-10, the Chargers scored four straight goals to go up 15-10. Schwack and Chambers scored each scored at 6:43 and 5:52, respectively, but Dominican scored the final three goals for the win.

Hermosura and Chambers each scored two goals for the Eagles who now sit at 1-5 on the season. Freshman Christina Badaracco (Long Island, N.Y.) stopped 18 shots in net for the Eagles.

Post plays Bridgeport at home on March 28 at 3 p.m. in its next game.
